thanks in advance!
VW has moved here and has started producing the Passat. Also Wacker (they produce plastic screen for solar collectors) h as moved to nearby county. Many of their key personnel are German so I imagine there will be more available in the future. Publix supermarkets have moved to this area so Boars Head cold cuts are now available. Our parents were German so I understand your concerns. Any questions contact me at normlampe@epbfi.com

Just wanted to respond to the post about Helen, Ga.

Don't waste your time or gas. It is a tourist trap with little to none true German food at least in our experience last Oct.(2010) we had the worst German Meal ever there, instant mashed potatoes, red cabbage so sweet it made you sick and frozen black forest cake (still frozen in the middle) this was at the Old Heidelberg which came highly recommended we ate serval other places while there and were not impressed by any of them.

The nearest German bakery is in Helen, Georgia. Hofer's of Helen - Fresh Baked German Bread Online Wonderful little town and food.
