I know of NHS from City of Chicago residents to get grants through a Non Profit. Are there any organizations in the suburbs to help homeowners?

What do you want help with? Utilities?

Check your local cities website and also county website there' programs for discounted utilities, dupage up until recently had one where you could get new windows and the county would pay half.

When I bought my home I got a $2500 grant from bank of america. You'll need to be more specific on what type of assitance you need.

I have family in Hazel Crest. They just filed bankruptcy a couple years ago and they are in dire need of some home improvements. Any assistance for windows and other random fixings in the house.

If you could directly link me to any resources in Hazel Crest that would help. It'd be greatly appreciated.

Check the city website as well as county. It will be on the left hand side under community services or something like that.

I know dupage had some great programs for better efficient appliances and furnaces, windows, etc. I recently checked and they had gone through all the money and most of the programs were taken down though.

If it's older people or people in need I think habitat for humanity and church groups do things where they provide the supplies and labor.
