Currently living in Naperville but planning to buy a house soon.. Only thing we like here in nNaperville is the school, but its house is pricey, traffic and snobbish in here.. Anywhere around you could recommend with a good school and safe to have morning walk or play outside with the kids?

Very modest budget, even for a far away from work location like Minooka the avg list price is currently around $240K...

While I am sure you could find a home with 2br & 2 ba it would be smarter to find a home with 3 or more br that maybe needs a little sprucing up -- you'll build equity / long term price security with that sort of home, especially if you value a more family oriented place.

Wheaton is similar to Naperville no homes priced that low. If your husband works in Countryside I suggest farther east I don't see how you can buy a home for that cheap of price. I would suggest Berwyn or Brookfield but even there home prices are higher than what you indicate.
