I'm moving from downtown Chicago to the south-south suburbs. I have a new job in Bourbannais. I'm trying to find a home or apt to rent in a good, safe area..having a hard time...I had no idea the tragic decline of so many southside neighborhoods. Does anyone know of any charming areas that are safe , clean & at least 30 minutes by car to Bourbannais ?

new lenox, frankfort, mokena, green gardens township, wilmington, elwood, peotone, and manhattan are the best bradley and bourbanais aint bad also tinley oak forrest and orland are nice but a little farther than 30 min

Drive time from 159th St. and I-57 you're looking at about 40 minutes with NO road construction, therefore putting Oak Forest probably at your limit for going north. Maybe look into getting a place in Frankfort or Matteson right off I-57. There are plenty of nice homes off Rte 30 and I-57 in either direction. The racial makeups of the towns; Matteson is about 50% white and 50% black now, and Frankfort is mostly all white still. Both towns are perfectly safe and have much to offer as far as shopping, eatting establishments, and other convienences.

Bourbonnais and Bradley are good places. Fine a place there. Lived there for 55 years. Left there to move to Vegas for warmed.
