We all know it's cold, we know they're cold. They're wearing the same thing they did in 100+ degree weather...are they trying to say, hey I'm from chicago I am not scared of cold? not personally impressed

What would possibly lead you to believe they care enough about you or your opinion to think they do it to impress you?

When I used to run I got hot real quick. So I started to run with less clothes.

Yep. That is pretty much it. Until it gets below 40 I'll run in shorts and a t-shirt. I may put on a light long sleeve jacket at 35-45 degrees depending on the wind. Anyone who is wearing more than that above 30 is jogging, not running.

(there's nothing wrong with jogging, but running just warms you up pretty quickly while jogging doesn't)

What ponders me more are the people that are still wearing flip flops.

That sounds good

What do you wear, below 35? Im curious. Also, you mention you are in Logan square? Is that a safe area (isn't that west of Western Ave)? Do you jog (run) there, or do you go to the lakefront trail?

I saw a woman in Jewel the other day dressed for summer and winter at the same time - flip flops and shorts and then a heavy hooded parka.

What the heck makes you think this is just a Chicago thing? I've seen this in NYC, Boston, Maine, and even in Ottawa! Some people just get really hot while running, regardless of the outside temps
