that's the underground, multilevel station (I believe basically extending from Union to Ogilvie) that would, of course, continue to have Metra and Amtrak, but would also add levels for CTA and high speed regional rail (the Chicago hub). I've seen a number of drawings on how it would look.

btw, San Francisco is currently already building something akin to this in SoMa, replacing the old SP (Cal Train) terminal with a facility built for regional high speed rail, local rail, BART, etc.

Queens Landing is where Queen Elizabeth alit (only a queen can do that) on the shores of Chicago at the foot of Grant Park when you visited the city in the late 1950s to commemorate the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway. The idea here is that an underground link from beneath Buck. Foun. under LSD to the lakeshore would be built and a formalized landing area created along the lake.

for anyone who wants to add on to my list (obviously I forgot a lot), PLEASE: DO SO.

For example, I should have included Park du Sable on the spit of land south of Navy Pier and east of the old North Pier area that was also to be tied in to the ped/bike route over the river that I believe was to include a pedestrian bridge.

Do I dare throw in the hopelessly impossible Crosstown Expressway? Sure it runs against conventional wisdom today of ripping a city apart with expressways, but I wonder if at some point the circle interchange will literally melt down as the only conduit of through traffic in the city.

Here are some details on the revised plans for Waterview. Construction has been at full speed for months now.
