So people who are engaging in armed robbery, homicide, and attempted homicide are deterred by strict local gun penalties? Unless they're searching every car at the city limits or state line it's difficult to imagine how very many people would get caught with an illegal gun before they actually use it in a crime.

we'll soon see, the current mayor of NYC is a far left communist SJW who almost completely banned stop & frisk. If hoodrats aren't being searched anymore they'll carry more and more guns and the homicide rate will gradually ramp up

I think you misspelled "because there are no cities in the south big enough to have that many murders."

Cities in the South with higher murder rates than Chicago: Richmond, Atlanta, Memphis, West Palm Beach, Savannah, Baton Rouge, Jackson, Birmingham, and New Orleans.

New Orleans, with its rate of 42 per 100,000, would have over 1100 murders per year if it were as big as Chicago. And don't get me wrong, I love New Orleans almost as much as I love Chicago, so I'm not putting it down. Let's not pretend the South is exempt from our national gun violence problem, though.

He's been eliminating bail for all low level offenses, making the NYPD let the homeless sleep on the trains and sidewalks (and banning stop & frisks as mentioned), amnestying all fugitive bench warrants for the past 10 years, decriminalizing public urination and fare evasion, the list goes on. So yeah we'll see in 5 years on how NYC's crime trends are after this guy is done with the city

NYC experienced a lot of gentrification over the past 25 years. A lot more than we did. That's why homicide rates are low. It's pretty easy to be "progressive" and talk that talk when you know the poor can't afford to live in most of your City!

I'm from Europe and to me crime is what defines Chicago. Crime has always been a part of Chicago, even early in the previous century Al Capone himself chose Chicago to be his home. For a reason probably. And then came Cabrini Green and all the gang violence more recently. I've seen on crime maps that violent crime also happens all throughout the city and not exclusively in the South and West so overall it seems like a dangerous city to me.

Chicago has a positive side to me as well, I really liked downtown with all the skyscrapers. The nicest downtown in the US behind NYC.

He is a communist based on the quote I provided, objectively there is no debate there

Apply all the prejudices you want on people calling out social justice warriors but SJWs cause a lot more problems in society than they solve
