I am interested to see if anyone here is familiar with Rosemoor, the neighborhood that essentially surrounds Chicago State University and points south of it. Specifically, current or former residents are encouraged to share their opinions. The area I am looking at appears tidy and stable. CPS' crime stats show that it's even safer than my NW side hood I live in. It's right off of I-94 and a long walk/short bike ride to the 95th St. red line station. This property would be an investment that I would rent out. Thanks in advance.

Isn't that technically just a tiny part of Roseland(?)

The southern part of Rosemoor is in northeastern Roseland.

And I totally meant CPD not CPS.

I would be wrong to assume that because a neighborhood is tidy it has a healthy market for rentals. In fact, given the well publicized crisis facing CSU it is almost certainly more accurate to say that the home owners in the area are fearful that further problems with the school will accelerate the exodus from that part of the city -- The Death Of A University? The Sad Story Of Chicago State
Quote:
In the fall of 2010, the school had over 500 freshmen; this fall, it had 86. One professor told Seltzer “I just wonder how long we can go. ... Why go? More and more students are apparently asking that question and concluding it is not a good investment. After all, the nearby University of Illinois at Chicago has a much higher graduation rate, and over a 70% higher average salary after attending.
