Also, curious to everyone's thoughts on living in Streeterville - yay or nay?

That would be super close to my office.

I personally prefer to live somewhere more neighborhoody, and less touristy, but I wouldn't be able to afford Streeterville anyway.

I wouldn't want to live there. Little access to grocery stores unless you're near the treasure island or whole foods. It's also incredibly busy all the time.

BTW, check out Domu.com for apartment hunting. It has some great options for searching specific neighborhoods in Chicago.

I would live west of Michigan Avenue. Streeterville is pretty sterile compared to River North or the Gold Coast.

I would add wicker park to your list too - it's my favorite area in Chicago.
