are there toll discounts that are only available for I-PASS users, but not for out-of-state EZPass drivers? (Chicago: discount)

Newbie to Chicago and Illinois.

I'm still using my EZ-Pass from MA. I've had it for over 20 years. When I moved to two other EZ-pass states, I kept it because those states didn't offer special discount for EZ-pass transponders issued by their own states.

Since I'm in Chicago now, I'm wondering if I-PASS has any toll discounts that are only available for I-PASS users, but not for out-of-state EZPass drivers? Come to think of it, do all roads that accept I-PASS also accept out-of-state EZ-Pass as well?

Every toll lane on the Illinois Tollway accepts I-PASS. You can also use it on the Chicago Skyway, the Indiana Toll Road and in 17 other states (via the E-ZPass system).

I-Pass is compatible with EZ-Pass. At most they might charge you a 3% out-of-state processing fee but other than that they don't charge more for out-of-state EZ-Pass users than they do for I-Pass users. No sense in trading your EZ-Pass for an I-Pass if you're content with how Massachusetts manages your EZ-Pass account.

If you don't have a I-Pass or EZ-Pass account, they charge you double. If you have a I-Pass or EZ-Pass account but you forget it or it malfunctions or doesn't register for some reason, you get 5 of those per calendar month at the I-Pass/EZ-Pass rate, then after the 5th they start charging double for the remainder of the month.
