Phil Everly was born in Chicago. In fact the Everly brothers and their parents lived in Chicago for a few years while the brothers were young. This helps explains their awesomeness.

I just wanted to point out someone that was born here that was quite famous and a great talent. It is sort of the opposite of your thread but I wanted to point it out.

Being a musician myself it is important to me.

I could not find a more appropriate thread to stick this info in.

When you only name one, it actually looks kind of bad. I'm sure that there are hundreds if not thousands of notable musicians who were born in Chicago, though.

Warren Zevon
Dan Castellaneta
John Landis
Tom Berenger
David Mamet
Gene Siskel
Harold Ramis
Michael Crichton
Raquel Welch
Harrison Ford
Quincy Jones
Bob Fosse
Sidney Sheldon
Edgar Bergen
Gloria Swanson
Ray Manzarek

The list goes on and on and on and on...

There is a thread somewhere that somewhat talks about musicians, actors and others that were born in Chicago or the area or grew up here. There are quite a few actually.

I'm from Chicago and I'm clearly famous. Add "Coldwine" to the list.

Kanye West
Jennifer Hudson
Curtis Mayfield
Red Holt
Ramsey Lewis
Benny Goodman
Mike Nichols
Elaine May
Ed Asner
Will Geer
Moose Skowron

Kanye was born in Atlanta, and is therefore a transplant to some degree (though he was pretty young when he moved here).
