Default Places close to the downtown area ...

Hello!

I got a new job in downtown Chicago and will soon be moving in with my wife and a two year old daughter. We wouldn't mind living in a condo, but would like to stay under $350-400K for the mortgage. We would like to cut down on the commute as much as possible, and live in a safe and clean place.

What places would you suggest we check out in or close to the downtown area (or should I say The Loop!)?

Thanks in advance!

Actually $400K can put you into South Loop if you are not too particular about the square footage.

They're completely revamping the South Loop. You could definately find something there for that amount. The places are not that large though and you'd definately want to stay North of Cullerton.
