Yes, when you have 10,000 people, sh*t does happen, but why does it seem to happen in Chicago more than anywhere else? Whether it's shaking down immigrants, beating up bartenders/patrons, DUI, drug dealing, etc, etc, etc the CPD has developed a reputation in line with our city, county and state government which is basically "they're corrupt"

It's because it's a culture of corruption that permeates and infects every government run organization from the beat cop all the way to the governors office.

In no other city in the country is the mantra "it's not what you know, it's who you know" more true.

So this guy got less of a bond than the cop did.:

"A 31-year-old man who was behind the wheel of a vehicle that fatally struck a pedestrian early Thanksgiving morning on Chicago's Southwest Side was driving with a blood-alcohol content of nearly four times the legal limit of 0.08 percent, prosecutors said at the man's bond hearing today."

"Anthony Morales, of the 5500 block of South Homan Avenue, was ordered held in lieu of $300,000 when he appeared for his bond hearing today in Cook County Criminal Court."

This example proves that the cop did not get an abnormally low bond.

Probably because he killed one person, and the cop killed 2. Didn't the cop have previous driving violations as well?

He was never convicted of a DUI or DWI in those cases, although there is reason to believe he may have been drinking before those incidents, he was never given any tests.

"Frugoli had been involved in two previous crashes in the last four years, but he was never administered a sobriety test after officers on the scene determined he did not appear to be intoxicated."

Bail is also partially determined by one's resources. For a serious offense, a CEO is typically going to have higher bail than a busboy.

Oh boy, the copper got away from his previous crashes without getting a sobriety test, probably because he was completely sober, right?

None of this nonsense would be going on if unions did not have cities by the balls. I hope I live one day to see them cease to be of any relevance. Privatize everything, including the force.

I wonder how much moola was stuffed in an envelope and put in the judge's desk draw.
