Well, to be honest, there are a few species of cacti that grow around the area. Dont believe me? See below. Taken in Wheaton (about 30 miles west of Chicago) this summer... But yes, Chicago's climate is not dry. It can be very mild most of the summer, but then get brutalized by high heat and humidity from the Gulf every once in awhile, too. But compared to Miami, Chicago feels like Phoenix (dryness wise). lol

80 degrees is our NORMAL summer temps, whereas 80 degrees in, say, Phoenix in summer would feel downright frigid to them after being subjected to 105+ all summer.
And running in 85+ degrees isnt wise, I dont care where you are. If youre not hydrated (especially in dry climates), you can die from heat stroke very easily.
