My comment would be that this is a perfect example of anthropomorphism by an ancient tribal people.God is jealous?Indignant?Filled with wrath?The God of the Universe is jealous of men?Please.

You truly believe the God of the Universe experiences the human emotion of jealousy over what humans do?
One of the things I really like about the OT is how God's nature is brought out. Who is God? What is He about? What is He like?
The NT is basically about Jesus, which is good. But in the OT you really discover what God is about. I think it is time for me to spend more time in the OT. To rediscover who God is!

Here we see God delivering a message that God will judge Nineveh. This was at the height of Assyria's power, and this seemed like something impossible. He's delivering the message that He is God and He is in charge.

Yes. he's jealous. It is an anthropomorphism to an extent--in that God isn't some jealous school girl. But he does want us to worship Him alone.
He doesn't NEED us to worship him, but he does command it. Why? I'll ask him when I get to Heaven. I just know he is glorified when I testify how he saved me.
