Why do you think the New Testament is the word of God?

Actually there are multiple Gospels, only 4 were published.

There is also the Book of Q, The Gospel of Peter, The Gospel of Thomas, The Gospel of Judas, The Gospel of Mary Magdalene, The Infant Gospel of Jesus, plus others but I can't remember their names... my books are at the church and I am at home.

As someone who has drifted btw believing in Christ and being agnostic I offer the following reasons why I now believe it is the word of God.

1. Those who knew Jesus (including all NT writers) willingly became martyrs. I can not intellectually believe that hundreds of thousands of Romans would peacefully give up their lives in defense of Christ being God if it was all a lie. We're not talking about a dozen nuts committing suicide to meet a comet, we're talking huge numbers of people across many cultures and a large geographic area.

There were no pacifist martyrs for Muhammad, John Smith, etc.

2. The NT has been proven time and again to be 100% historically accurate with the non miraculous events it describes. Many Roman rulers mentioned in it have be proven to be real people by archaeology.

By contrast books like the Book of Mormon have ZERO evidence of being historical

3. When I have been a "devout atheist" I have been a miserable person. When I fully devote myself to the teachings of the NT I have an instant peace of heart that dwarfs anything a drug could provide.
