when we place so much emphasis on our bodies and our egos then we fear death

when we Know that we are the being deeper than the body or the mind we learn that this place is eternal.. and death does not exist here..

our bodies and our "stories" will pass but who we are underneath it all , will always be

Do we fear death because:
(1) we know what we have now, be it good and/or bad, and don't want to know about a different "scenario?"
(2) we don't think we are going "someplace better" after this life?

Let's just DISCUSS. Please skip the biblical quotations. Some people get carried away with these.
I think fearing death and being preoccupied with it are very different things.
People who fear it are afraid they are unsaved. Not in full submission and relation to God.
Those who don't want to die becasue they love their lives, families, etc are more preoccupied with it.

I am fine with death. I read the book and know how it ends, but I do want more life!

I personally do not fear death. I know once i leave the Earth, I will be in the presence of my Father. I can't wait to see God and heaven, something I can only dream about now. When I die, I don't want my friends and family to be sad cuz I wont be sad. i cant wait to have everlasting peace and not worry about paying bills and working long hours.
Having said that, I hope that when i do leave, I leave knowing I did everything I could to save those around me. The sad thing is, some people do not want to be saved. I refuse to force my beliefs on someone who has not asked nor is interested in what I have to say.
