How Religious Pious Mush Has Made Millions of Christians Culturally Irrelevant - Godfather Politics

[LEFT]“What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,’ and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. But someone may well say, ‘You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.’” (James 2:14–18)

I have heard in American that some unbelieving people told Christians to not help the poor , because they considered the poor to be lazy and did not want to work ........ So you can see the dislike for socialism in America, but socialism is here and people will pay in their health care tax laws ......... Still Christians do give to help the poor and give for the enhancement of the Gospel of Christ, which this passion come through Jesus Spirit which leads them , so they give to Jesus to help .... This giving to Jesus is a fruit of the Spirit , and when believers give their Charity then Jesus promises to give His Charity...... So if Christians do not give Charity then they do not have the fruit of the Spirit for Charity, which is also called Love ...... If this Thread is a question on works and salvation , then All Christians are called to good works in Christ, it is that they are not saved by Good Works in Christ , as Christians are saved by the righteousness of Lord Jesus , where Good Works are the blessing in this temporal life and the rewards in the eternal life to come ....... what are the rewards in the eternal life to come?....... Well this is were Christians can receive the crowns of the Gods Glory God puts on them , and this is were all the people that got saved where they helped by their Good Works in Christ will be known .... Glory to God...

The "faith alone" argument is nothing more than self righteous self justification that has no understanding of how those who knew Jesus, or at least knew some who knew Jesus, behaved in the first century. Faith without works is contrary top the words of Jesus and contrary to the practices of those who knew Jesus.

Recall the parable of the Pharisee and the Publican. Who was righteous in the eyes of God?

The early Christians did not practice welfare as we know it today. Yes, they helped those who needed help. But they did not attempt to provide everlasting assistance. Those who received help were expected to eventually start pulling their own weight, so they too could provide help to others. THAT, IMHO, is the real meaning of "community".

Bigger things going on here with regards to God and the country.

Sins are commonplace and protected by law. Sinning is commonplace both among unbelievers, believes, and even church leaders.

Don't know if anyone has noticed - but there is no "headline" Christian personalities right now - Billy Graham being the last. So we have a spiritual vacuum right now and Islam seems to be gaining momentum.

I think the country is in a no win position - aside from a Jonah type of revival. Obama has no interest in helping the country. So what I see happenening is either Obama wins the election and we implode internally, or Romney wins and we will be attacked by foreigners.

Remember Matther 24:6-9:
"You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. 8 "But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. 9 "Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.

We seem to be in the midst of change right now where America is being steered away from Christianity and will be among the "all nations" that will hate Christ. Unfortunately, this event is on God's timetable.

Health care is just another plank in the larger scheme of events.

The one who by repented of his sin and was forgiven freely by God, the same person who trusted in that by faith alone .... the Publican (tax collector).
“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God."
justified .... "just if I'd" never sinned

Absolutely right chuckman!

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should they eat. 2Th.3:10

There are plenty of able bodied people on welfare, what we have succeeded in doing in the United States is breed a group of people that live generationally off welfare and don't know anything else except to feed of the government teat.
