It was their choice to sin against God. Jesus was speaking of 'brothers' meaning those who are in the body. When they continue to live opposed to God and refuse to repent, Jesus says they are now consider lost and we should treat them differently. This is the teaching of our Lord.

I saw the Youngbloods at a festival in 1970. They were good.

So, they don't still have contact with you and seek your company?

Can you just imagine how many have been bruised and hurt out there by the plank removers.

It makes a mockery of this

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Sanctimony is a nauseating sin and is often on display in this forum.

Yes, pcamps, I can more than imagine. I've said on this forum before how I was part of bruising and hurting and breaking the heart of a dear friend because I thought it was the right thing to do, "to save her from her sin". I regret it to this day, and wish that I had some way of finding out if she ever recovered.

That may be the teaching of YOUR Lord . . . but that is NOT the teaching of Christ and our God who IS agape love. Did you ever even read 1 Cor 13??? God who IS that kind of agape love does not disassociate from ANY of His children, period. Only humans are so cruel and crass.

Better to listen to the Youngbloods singing about love and brotherhood then to waste a moment listening to the sanctimonious.

Thanks for posting the links, guys! Those were the days my friends.

It was spoken for those who do not know how to forgive. Like a bill of divorce Moses wrote for those whose hearts were hardened. Have you unmerciful servants read the the whole of Matt 18

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times

Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
