lol! Yeah, married men don't masturbate Most of the married hetero men I know complain endlessly that their wives don't want sex!
I am sure many married men do. But there are plenty of married men who have regular sex with their wives thus not needing to masturbate.
My point is, its gonna be near impossible to abstain from sex while also abstaining from porn/masturbation. Being married will greatly improve your chances / give you a chance to not live a sinful lifestyle.
And yet another cheap, dishonest attempt at discrediting me. I said homosexuality is immoral. Just like an adulterer! *Gasp* Why not actually answer the question raised instead of trying to distract with your silly claims of being offended?
In YOUR OPINION it's immoral. To most Americans, it's not immoral. Even to many Christian churches, it's not immoral.

Yes, it will improve your chances. But masturbation is natural. Every sperm is NOT sacred
Then they have a very big problem. Like I said, it is not practical or logical to think most men can abstain from intercourse while also abstaining from porn, and masturbation. Even many Priest are guilty of these sins of the flesh.
It will be insanely hard and unlikely to not live a sinful lifestyle as a man not being married.
Again, you are confusing the epistemological with the ontological.
You are arguing how someone resists sexual temptation when you have not answered the ontological question of whether we are supposed to resist temptation. Jesus had much to say on the subject of sexual purity, marriage and lust and I believe the teachings to be very clear and straightforward.
Should we look at pornography or have impure thoughts regarding sexuality? The answer is of course 'no.' The how has already been answered by God, in that we can not do it on our own but through God all things are possible.
We can beat around the bush all night long but the issue is moot. If something is sin against God, and we know all sin is against God, then we are to go to the greatest lengths to avoid such behavior and repent when we fail.

Huh?
We are suppose to resist temptation, thats a given. That is not what we are discussing.

Your argument, such in post #112, suggests that abstaining from sexual sin is impossible. My question is if we know Christ commands it, how can it be impossible? Jesus spent 40 days without food and resisted the temptation to eat. I'd say that's quite a difficult feat. However, Scripture tells us that through the Holy Spirit we have the ability to do things we would not be able to do by ourselves.
The only option is to deny the teachings of Christ or deny the power of God in our lives. I choose neither. I accept that the teachings of Christ are worth following and that God is more powerful than the lust of the flesh.

I never said anything is impossible. I said it was very hard and quite frankly 99% of men would not be able to abstain from BOTH intercourse AND masturbation. Not in this day in age with people getting married later in life and with porn right at our fingertips. Pretty sure if I were to ask most Christian men did they masturbate or have premarital sex 90% of them would say yes if they were being honest.
My main point was it is not practical to think a gay man would be able to remain celibate while also abstaining from porn and masturbation.
