What had the people behind the door been doing?

"did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?"

They had done the works, so why were they not allowed in?

The passage is a good example of how works alone CANNOT earn salvation.

I believe that if we have the Holy Spirit, we will be committed to doing the will of God?

I believe that you are right. But I don't know why you put it into a question form. You pretty much answered it.

As long as we distinguish between being committed to doing so and then actually trying to do it vs succeeding 100% of the time. Trouble is, we're all going to fail to do God's will repeatedly for the rest of our lives. Keep trying and don't give up. God will make up the infinite chasm constituting the difference.

IMO; the ten commandments is more or less the bible for dummy humans. Those do not evolve with times nor can you con your way.

It was the wrong name.

Works prove faith and belief.

'' The one who doesn't keep the laws of Moses and even teaches others not to keep the laws of Moses ARE LAWLESS, and they are the least in the kingdom but there are 3 sections of heaven and the outer court of darkness IS the outer court of Gentiles where the least go.

The design of the Temple is 3, and so the design of the kingdom is 3, and this is why many will come to the Marriage feast and then be escorted out, many sons of the kingdom will come to sit down with Abraham but be escorted out.

There is life, and there is abundant life and the two are not the same.

There is salvation and there is salvation with reward and the two are not the same, and we see the Holy Jerusalem coming down from heaven and the people streaming into it in a future day, and then there are those without the city like dogs who love a lie.

Not everyone will be counted the same, and that's why we are shown 3 sections and in each one it is a progression in Righteousness.

The outer court of darkness is not part of the Temple proper, and there are two sections of the Temple proper.

The people who are found in the outer court are not counted, only the people in the two sections of the temple are measured and counted, but even the people in the outer court have hope, and we see them in the next world but they never enter the city of Jerusalem.
