Who were far from Christ, but now brought near?

Who are the ones divided that are now made one?

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.

Anyone need a link to C & V ?

PLEASE don't even try to use the scripture to explain scripture--thats so passe`

Is this from the Bible? I have no idea who it is, but this looks like a very interesting question/topic!

That is not of God.

No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born from above.
No one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and spirit. Flesh makes flesh spirit makes spirit. Do not be surprised I tell you, you must all be born from above.

Whoever is of the truth hears my voice.

It's from Eph. 2. Here's Matthew Henry's commentary.

Jesus Christ made peace by the sacrifice of himself; in every sense Christ was their Peace, the author, centre, and substance of their being at peace with God, and of their union with the Jewish believers in one church. Through the person, sacrifice, and mediation of Christ, sinners are allowed to draw near to God as a Father, and are brought with acceptance into his presence, with their worship and services, under the teaching of the Holy Spirit, as one with the Father and the Son. Christ purchased leave for us to come to God; and the Spirit gives a heart to come, and strength to come, and then grace to serve God acceptably.

Speaking of two different groups, those who were under Law (Hebrew) and those who did not know the Law (gentiles) brought together in Christ In His love. Reconciled to God and man because Law was no longer a requirement.

Why would I not use Scripture to answer a question pertaining to doctrine? Ephesians 2:11 tells us that the Gentiles were far away. But with the death of Christ and the beginning of the Church-age both believing Jews and Gentiles are brought together in one body called Church - a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17). The tearing of the curtain in the temple at the moment Jesus dismissed His spirit from His body (Matthew 27:51), torn by God Himself from top to bottom signified that the true holy of holies - heaven itself is now open for both Jew and Gentile believers.

The near are those who seek and still are hungry for more and the far off are those who think(but think wrong) they know all truth and are ignorant of any of it.
