Well, it could be that some people ate ham to offend Jews, but I doubt most people did.

Was ham a cheaper meal or more plentiful than chicken, fish, turkey or spring lamb ?

Even if more plentiful why specify ham with Easter Ham ?

Matthew - it is simply a TRADITION. Surely you understand TRADITIONS. Ham can be CURED with salt. Never heard of a cured chicken though.

Do "human beans" cause gas?

Oh please. My family was from Northern Europe. Originally, they were pagan.

I accept both parts of my lineage. And pagans did not "worship the devil" nor did they have a devil.

Commendable and well written push backs to my thread . My
church non denom evangelical already published their Easter
activities, which although I biye my lip over "I'm in" not that I
don't contend we have embellished or embrassed pagan origins it's that I believe the church subsituted ( to a great degree) the original easter with the resurrection of Jesus Just like substituting the pagan Saturnalia Dec 25 for Christmas or the birth of Christ ! So yes the intentions get me to back off opinion to a extent . Remember what I think doesn't matter as history
is well documented . Religion often plays to a different drum when compared to scripture. if Jesus died on Friday evening
and you apply first grade math adding 72 hours ( 3 days) your
Into Monday! Easter is Ish tar which equates to Ashtaroth a
Pagan deity . I believe Jesus died on Wednesday and rose on (Passover / Shabbat)( Saturday) the real 3 days!

It was substituted because of fear and terror and murder.

Hatred was the reason Christianity took on Pagan feasts. Nobody wanted to do anything that would cause them to look like a Jew because the world hated Jews really bad after the 7 year Jewish war.

After the Jewish war they began a Jewish tax and if a gentile believer kept Passover, then he was taxed just like a Jew because he looked like a Jew.

I think Christians still hate other Christians who keep the feasts of Jesus, but it was Christian against Christian until there were no followers of Christ keeping and teaching the feasts of Christ.

God probably wont mind that you keep the worship system of Babylon and Egypt. He is a loving God who saves all people of all faiths, there is no reason to exclude anyone of any faith from being saved by the God of the Bible.

But salvation is only salvation, not reward.
