Many people reject the Bible's revelation of eternal torment because it doesn't 'feel' right to them. But if you are objective you will recognize that the Bible does teach it.
It has nothing to do with a mere feeling, it's a blatant lie of mankind.
But those who follow myths and fables, have a skewed sense of reality.

It is strange that not one word of any punishment after life here on planet earth was mentioned to cain when he was being told what his punishment would be.
Can you imagine what his response would have been if he had been told of what now mainstream christianity believes now?
An all loving, all powerful, all wise supreme being saying "love and worship me or burn for all eternity", for no other purpose but torture is evil, punishment with a goal of teaching righteousness is more in line with a loving and wise Father

The beast and the false prophet ARE kept alive for over a 1000 years in
the lake of fire because Satan gives them power. When Satan is cast in all
3 are destroyed just like everyone else. This is the second death, the only
way to kill a LIVING soul. God casts all the wicked into the lake of fire, God
torments NO ONE. This IS God's punishment for the unrighteous.
Satan has dominion over the earth and that includes HADES-HELL in the heart
of the earth. God casts NO ONE into HADES-HELL. This is NOT God's punishment
for the wicked.

Why is an intermediary step needed? If annihilation is the end, why toss souls into the lake of fire when all God needs do is think the thought and poof! The souls no longer exist.
Judgment leads to sensible conclusions, not that which is irrational.
