I do speak to God daily in prayer. He has also revealed to mankind his Word in the Bible. We don't need a prophet today telling us what God things -- he's already declared it.
So, you who believes God no longer speaks and half your congregation thinks the same about you, would have US believe that what God said some 2,000-6,000 years ago is still valid for us today?
The idea that God has not kept up with the times and wants us to follow 6,000 year old commandments is beyond humorous.
How ridiculous it is to think that God would never edit his words and add to the knowledge as the years go by.
When people talk about carrying on the family name, they usually want to see the bloodline carried on.
Bloodlines stretch back hundreds of years. Thousands of people can have the same name family through a shared bloodline. Never mind the fact that there is a bloodline on the female side that people like SAAN never seem concerned about. Can we spell chauvinism boys and girls?
Besides.....News Flash!! A gay man..... free information in case you and SAAN worry about these things but aren't keeping up on science.....produces sperm and can parent a child.

And that sperm is useless inside of another man. And no straight woman wants to have a gay mans baby anyways, as many women still do have standards of themselves.

Yes.

And the idea that the God of the universe is subject to human whims and the culture is?

Why? You're assuming he has something to add, or something to change.

YES, as you assume he is no longer interested in the events of our time and has left 6,000 year old documentation tat is 99% irrelevant to us today.
And God must have been subject to human whim more than once as he had humans rite a book because they refused to remember history and again when he gave in to human demands and whim to give Israel a KING?
1 Samuel 8:19--21
19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.”
21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the Lord. 22 The Lord answered, “Listen to them and give them a king.”

Surrogacy is common. You speak as an authority of all straight women? ahhahahahahahaha..... no

I never said he was no longer interested. He certainly is, and he's moving. But he has already told us what he expects from us, and it hasn't changed. The fact that our society disagrees with him doesn't mean it's not applicable.
Talking about the god of the bible and Jesus talking to people.
When I went to the pentecostal church the pastor used to say that sometimes Jesus visited him. He used to say that he could not see Jesus directly; he could only look at him out of the corner of the eye, a glow coming out if Jesus and feel his "warm presence".
I remember a few Sundays when the pastor said that Jesus visited him and took him around the town to observe the church members during their hours before the reunion and that he saw that most of them were doing nothing to "spread the word" or anything christian-related. At times, when the pastor said these thing he would cry.
When the pastor said these things people in the church became nervous and started to say to themselves "cover me with your blood, Lord Jesus".

Stoning for adultery is probably no longer applicable.
