Would you pray before eating junk food or do you feel guilty?

For instance, I would feel silly giving thanks for eating a greasy high caloried McGriddle from McDonalds, sure it fills up my stomach but am I really honoring my body by eating such junk. Just curious of other's opinions.

I always give thanks before eating anything, whatever it may be. There's nothing wrong health wise with eating 'junk food' in moderation, and it's not a spiritual issue.

When I eat something that might not be in my overall body's best interest - which is only a few times a week - I simply tell myself that taste buds need to be shown some respect too.

Is this another of those unforgivable sins that send me straight to Hell and do not pass the pearly gates?

Seriously, is this a fundie act? I thought this was reserved for Catholics.

If you purposely choose junk you should feel guilty.

The point of saying Grace is to thank God for the blessing of the food you are about to eat.

But God already knows what we pray before we pray ??

Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Personally, I figure that when I am eating junk food, prayer is most needed.

Dear God,

Thank you for these absolutely delicious-smelling tamales which I bought from an unlicensed street vendor in a sketchy neighborhood. Please do not let me die from some horrible disease caused by unsanitary cooking conditions because I'm pretty sure he made them in his kitchen.

Amen

Doesn't matter if He does not hear it. Most people do not know what prayer actually is. A Prayer is something that God wants to hear.

"The Lord is near to everyone who calls upon Him, who calls upon Him in truth."

"The Lord hears the prayer of the righteous but He is far from the wicked."

"They will call upon my name and I will hear them, they will say" the Lord is my God" and I will say "they are my people".
