Jesus never had any kind of armor. He won on a cross, not with a sword.
It is anathema to militaristic "Christians."
He didn't even need the "word" as you describe it. He WAS the Word!
Wrong. Does this not describe Jesus’ confrontation with Satan?
Ephesians 6:11 exhorts believers to “put on the whole armor of God” in order to stand firm against the attacks of our enemy, Satan (2 Corinthians 10:4; Ephesians 6:12). Verses 14 through 17 say, “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

If you have no need for truth, righteousness, gospel, faith, salvation and the Holy Spirit, then do as the other posted and get rid of them. Mystic will give you the "hallelujah" if you do. Or maybe you already ditched them.
Yes and no. Yes, Jesus defeated the power of sin at the cross. However, as long as we live in the flesh, Satan seeks to destroy the Christian’s witness. We must stayed prepared.

I prefer not to follow the lead of fundamentalists.
Truth, righteousness, FAITH (not gospel faith), salvation, and the Holy Spirit, are simply byproducts of a covenant relationship with Jesus Christ. They are never primary, nor do they come prior to a covenant relationship. The way you use them, they are but dirty rags in the sight of God.
If you have no need of the Cross, you are a Christless follower

The language Paul uses is just a description of that. They are the “tools” available to believers.
Holy Spirit, truth, righteousness, etc are the armor, which you claimed Jesus did not have.
Perhaps your view will evolve now that you know what Ephesians 6 says about the 'armor'?
Explain why JESUS needs those? Is He too weak? Those things are a byproduct of having a covenant relationship with Jesus.
Maybe that's why you don't really understand Ephesians. You seem to have problems with a lot of the NT except when you think in terms of a contract. But a contract is far from a covenant relationship with Jesus.
