What do you think about his visit? Would you attend a mass if you lived near the stadia were they will be held? Are you a Catholic?

Sadly people idolize leaders of churches, i think it is a distraction from seeking our true Holy Father directly. So no i wouldn't care in the least to see this distraction.

godspeed,

freedom

If I had a chance.. I'd go. I'm not Catholic but like it or not he is an important figure in world history. I think it would be worth it from that standpoint.

If could get a space, absolutley.
There's something very powerful about being in a crowd of believers that size.
It's also why I attended promise keepers several times.
The fact that I'm Roman Catholic would make it even better.

For Catholics, the Pope is the symbolic head of the Church and, therefore, much inspired by God. His words influence and guide the Church.

I had a chance to see Pope John Paul in LA many yrs ago but was distracted by other things. My loss.

I think Pope Benedict's visit is good for the nation esp if he addresses American issues [ie Iraq War]

No, I am not Catholic ( Episcopalian) but came very close to driving up to DC this morning to see him in the Popemobile. I thought it would have been a great experience for my children...a once in a lifetime event, but I had to go to court with a friend.

I am not Catholic, but yes I would go, especially if one of my Catholic friends or family member invited me..I think it would be a great experience to be in that stadium with so many people and feel the silence, as one well respected man known the world over, brings a spiritual and a unity message..I am sure that I would feel the Lords and the love and pleasure that so many people have come together in His name..Yes, I would go..

I am Catholic and would love to see the Pope. In response to a previous comment, Catholics do not idolize the Pope. Brother.

I just heard in the news that fundamentalist "christians" are protesting in front of the stadium gate. It is reported that they are chanting and disrupting school kids praying the Holy Rosary. Very sad and pathetic what some so called "christians" can do.

wait wait wait.. I'm not generally one to stand up for fundamentalist christians.. but the Pope did say the Catholic church was the one and only true church and that other churches were either defective or not true churches..

my quess is the best way to avoid protests is to not stir the pot.
