How about diving into Christ himself and leave Christendom out of the picture? You certainly did not met the true Christ in the JW sect. And I apologize on behalf of myself and other Christians who have not portrayed the true Christ to you either.
Amen Saintmarks. Our relationship with Christ, SHOULD NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION. I am not a Baptist because I believe we are the only christians truly worshipping God. My relationship with Christ is personal, and IF YOU TRUST HIM, HE THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT WOULD GUIDE YOU TO THE TRUTH, regardless of the religion anyone is affiliated.
The Sheep and the Goats

It will be interesting to see how they twist this scripture to support faith alone.
If Jesus set me free he sure has a twisted sense of humor. Why did he allow me to believe sincerely that I had the truth for 40 years? He must have known I would be highly suspicious at least, of any faith after that. If it was Jesus/God who set me free, what was the purpose? To lead me to the truth. to show me it? My release from the JWs, my only experience with God and the Bible, has led me to agnosticism..... and the more I read and ask questions on forums like this, the less inclined I am to dive back into the murky waters of Christendom to search for God.

Did God show you the truth? If the answer is yes, then He showed it to you to set you free.

I mean no offense here, please, but I must ask. Which God and which Bible?
From my dealings with JW's... their Bible (version) leads them to the wrong God. For starters His name is not Jehovah. (There is no letter 'J' in the Hebrew ).His true Hebrew name is Yahveh.
Jer 31:3 Yahveh hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee (Ringwielder) with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
Please, I beseech you, don't turn from the One True God just because you feel He's let down. I will pray He reveals Himself to you in a way you cannot miss.

Joh 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Step into His water they really aren't murky. The water of the Word will wash you white as snow.

One of the many side effects of the JW religion is that it has a way of turning its members against religion altogether, so much so, that when alot of JW's leave the religion they become Atheists.
When most people disagree with their church, they will simply find another church, but with JW's it is different. Once they leave the JW religion they are through with God and anything that has to do with formal worship.

Well Jehovah's Witnesses slowly turn their new converts against all religions. Once a person becomes baptized as a JW, they have already reached the point where they have rejected all other religions as false. If a JW then decides to leave the Watchtower, then basically they have nowhere else to go.
Some may return to their former religions, but most become Atheist or Agnostic. Quite a few also become pagan/wiccan. This is just one of many reasons, why I do everything I can, to discourage people from becoming a JW.

But you know what's even sadder? Christanity isn't a religion it's a 'way of life.'
