Angels are not just mere messangers:

And God sent an angel to destroy Jerusalem. But as the angel was doing so, the LORD saw it and was grieved because of the calamity and said to the angel who was destroying the people, "Enough! Withdraw your hand." The angel of the LORD was then standing at the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. - 1 Chronicles 21:15

Well you know I don't believe in such things (angels), but being fair to the scriptures as they were written (based on the writer's understanding), the writers believed these messengers were divine beings called angels. I don't believe the early Israelites believed in such things (nor a being known known as Satan), but as their theology evolved, shaped by the surrounding religions of other peoples around them (Babylon, Persia, Greece, etc), the concept of angels/demons, Satan and a burning hell crept into their common beliefs.

Lucifer was the first to be cast out of heaven, but not the only or last such as Azazel and the other watchers. Hell was not created or given exclusively to Lucifer rather it is a place where the fallen are forced to reside. It is not a place of fire but rather it is completely devoid of gods love and removed from any hope of regaining gods love. And the name satan can be given to any demon or fallen that is not acting in accordance to gods wishes or is.acting contrary to gods wishes. Satan is a generic title and not a name
