First Mystic asks:

Quote:
Why would you have to OBEY Good News?[
The when it is pointed out that the apostles were very condeming of those who do NOT obey the gospel Mystic says:

Quote:
What exactly do YOU think that means, Harold . . . since the gospel is the Good News? Why doesn't it say obey not God or God's commandments?

Mystic are you now agreeing that we must obey the Gospel? If you do not know what that means you could try reading the Scriptures.

2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Hmmm there is that vengeance word again -

If a person would ask "Why would you have to obey the Good News" (The Gospel) would that not mean that they do not obey the Gospel? Obviously no one who was already obeying the gospel would ask "Why would you have to.."

And if that person did not obey the gospel would it not follow that they "know not God"?

One might ask - what is the test by which we may know if we know God?

1Jo 2:4 Whoever says "I know him" but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,

HK

The gospel is the good news of the kingdom of God - if we do not obey Him he is not our King.

Major DODGE, Harold. What does it MEAN to OBEY the Good News . . . and why was it phrased that way if it means what you say OBEY God and God's Commandments instead of believe Jesus and love God and one another. Which was the good news (grace and love) and which was the bad news (hellfire and damnation)?

Yes . . . we have been over that repeatedly . . . they knew no better and there was no concept of self-inflicted (or earned) bad consequences in their mental framework. You ignored my request to explain what YOU thought the phrase meant so you could repeat your one-note drum of Nazi-like OBEDIENCE for obedience sake. We are to be better than obedient pets, Harold . . . it covers a lot more ground when you actually love God and each other . . . instead of protecting your backside from hell and damnation by following ten rules like an obedient pet.

The gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ . . . that we are saved and have a Way to God through Him and His unconditional love under grace . . . as long as we love God and each other. There is nothing to fear or obey when you love . . . it is all natural. Of course that is true for us . . . but not the earlier more carnal primitives . . . they only understood fear and obedience.

No I am talking about someone who outright rejected Christ really has no idea what exactly sin is nor obedience or the Holy Spirit working in them, dieing to self and then more. The only thing they know is that they don't want to go to hell. As a Christian I must say this is one hard life and I have learned so much in a short period of time realizing I still have a (mountain) of stuff to learn still and it will take several lifetimes so how is a person who knows nothing going to just like that repent on their deathbed and God will just welcome them into the kingdom?

Because He is God! His mercies endureth forever! His to do whatsoever He pleases. Save me oh Lord, I'm a sinner in need of your forgiveness, please help me, please!! It's a cry for help! It's a sinner's plea to the Lord Almighty, for Him to save us, if He so desires. Did He hear it? The cry? I don't know, who really knows.

But that's it right there: HE IS GOD! Who truly knows the heart but Him and Him ALONE??
