First Mystic asks:
Quote:
Why would you have to OBEY Good News?[
|
The when it is pointed out that the apostles were very condeming of those who do NOT obey the gospel Mystic says:
Quote:
What exactly do YOU think that means, Harold . . . since the gospel is the Good News? Why doesn't it say obey not God or God's commandments?
|
Mystic are you now agreeing that we must obey the Gospel? If you do not know what that means you could try reading the Scriptures.
2Th 1:8 In flaming fire
taking vengeance on them that
know not God, and that
obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Hmmm there is that vengeance word again -
If a person would ask "
Why would you have to obey the Good News" (The Gospel) would that not mean that they do not obey the Gospel? Obviously no one who was already obeying the gospel would ask "Why would you have to.."
And if that person did not obey the gospel would it not follow that they
"know not God"?
One might ask - what is the test by which we may know if we know God?
1Jo 2:4 Whoever says "I know him" but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,

The gospel is the good news of the kingdom of God - if we do not obey Him he is not our King.
