Please watch the video on how jesus would be politically.

How does Jesus effect the way you vote?

Seems like Jesus is against everything people on the right stand for.

He sounds like a socialist to me. He says blessed are the poor, and that rich should sell their posessions and give it to the poor. So how can you be on the right and be a christian?

Just seems like they only believe in him when it suits their needs (i.e keep rights from gays and atheists) but completely ignore it when it comes to war, the poor etc.

Yes! Exactly! I've always said that! I used to question the whole turn the other cheek thing....I guess that doesn't apply when it is not convienient!

But did he say it has to go through the government? Doesn't it mean more if I give to the poor voluntarily, rather than being forced to by my government?

Why are you even in the Christian section of the forums? Can you not read? There is another section over there to deal with you folks who refute Jesus. That video was complete garbage.

Jesus said rich people should sell their posessions and give it to the poor. In fact I see the religious right practicing the complete opposite. I never see a republican who follows jesus saying the poor are blessed. Also if it's not thru the government why do christians vote against gay marriage then?

Because this is about Jesus christ, not atheism. I want to know how jesus effects the way christians vote and why they ignore some of his teachings. If i put that in the atheist forum obviously they will just say they don't believe in god and it doesn't effect them..shouldn't be that hard to understand.

Yeah, people like Bill O'Reilly and George W. Bush are not Christ-like at all.

Now that's a very Christian way to respond to a post.
