Anyone heard of this? What does an Internet Czar do? Or, are we as Believer's/Christians on our way to being censored, weeded out? What will this mean for our frank and open discussions about Christ Jesus? Are we well on our way to being silenced? Maybe his (President's) intentions are justified in the name of National Security and all..... I don't know. Your opinion matters, what's your take....

That's quite a stretch to see this as a measure to stifle the voices of Christians.

Betsey, the West is losing the internet war.
The chinese, russians and indian hackers have infiltrated every layer of internet security and storage repositories of the the West (the US included)
This Czar should have taken office immediately after 9/11. This is too late
Also, in a decade or so, these hackers will have the ability to get an entire financial system to collapse.
When I was growing up as a kiddo (I had the privilege to feel the internet right from the age of 12, when mails and message boards existed in DOS format, my father had bought me a computer as early as 1992). Back in the day, the English websites outgunned the chinese websites 10000 to 1. Right now, it's the other way round.
Whoever operates more bandwidth will take over the internet. The internet is still in its baby stage. In 50 years, you will have a desktop in the air, with sensors in your hands, and the internet will be the NORM.
What role does a Czar plays? Why the Armed Services? Care to elaborate?
If we're talking about a national threat as far as foreign governments and terrorists trying to attack US interests on the internet, I think it should be a military branch.
I view a "czar" as more of a political figure--or a higher-up leader to oversee it in general. I don't think we need a "czar" to do that.
