I believe that some will perish only because they refuse to come to Jesus. Hell, as we know it, we have so much to learn from the word. WE need to learn and understand the many terms that is used in the bible.
sorry if I misunderstood you and maybe twisted your words, but when you reffered to the Talmud I thought you hold to the "traditional" doctrine.

Could i just ask again what condemned you into hell prior BC ?
What was it that sent a man to hell BC ? Or better still how was man doomed to eternal torment ? . I have just got through reading from Genesis to just past the flood and seen no mention of eternal torment so far.
Unrepented are doomed by there own choice whether BC or AD.
Just look at the examples, Abraham repented of all he had done wrong, David repented, look throughout the Bible and you will see they repented and followed God.

sorry to you aswell, if I hijacked your thread
I seek to live the laws of Jesus. When you are talking about the Talmud (Mishnah and Gemara ) you are getting into Judaism.
I live by the bible, but I am aware that Judaism has some conflicts as to what they believe. Example, some Jews that live by the Torah, don't believe that Jesus is God. So, there are some traditional doctrines, that I want live or accept.
But the Torah is our bible translated. I live under the New Covenant of Jesus.
but where does it speak of seperation from God in the OT as refering to eternal torment ?.
