Again, it's an intangible to the world, but there is a finding of truth in Him. But we agree there's much counterfeit - that's where all these sects get their stuff.

Yes and if there is no battle for the truth then the line of truth will be blurred and truth will become relative. Look at Europe, the churches stopped fighting over the truth and started to compromise in the name of "tolerance" and "Christian love" now Christianity is a relic in Europe.

I know - I'm an enemy of diversity, personally. But are we doomed to never come together as a people, always looking for differences even when our core believes are the same?

Personally, I believe it's because we aren't patient to wait on the Lord for his move - congregations can be in one accord (sedan, not coupe) but if they try to make something happen "in their own strength", you suddenly have division. I've seen it first hand.

No one is trying to make something happen "in our own strength" I am not marching on Washington or threatening senators to stop gays from marrying etc... this is about preaching truth. Let there be no mistake Little elmer this is a war, a war we don't like or want to fight, nor is it pleasing or edifying but we must fight it because in the end the truth must be known. Our core beliefs (Mormons, JW) are not the same-if they were we wouldn't be arguing. I have Pentecostal friends I disagree with some things but I recognize the gospel they preach and we are still the same; I do not get that with Jehovah Witnesses or Mormons. Their truth does not sound similar at all to mine.

The Truth is the reality of God in our lives . Read what Jesus said to the Samaritan woman at the well.

which God? Zues, Allah? I mean seriously these are vague answers. Why did Paul have to struggle with teh Corinthian church. He could have just told them to find God and let them be?

I think we again get trapped into looking only at ourselves as capable of guiding - is God dead? Does He not have all power in heaven and in earth? Does He not have a small role in salvation? Perhaps the leading role - some say He's the star of the show! We can continually go back to the Garden, when it all fell inward on us - now we see ourselves as masters of our destinies...

...the Holy Spirit has been called the Hound of heaven for a reason.

Amen to that. We are vessels that God can use to project Truth. But we must realize, we do NOT save anyone. The Holy Spirit is the one to convict the sinner and turn them to God.

Who needs to realize that? Truth doesn't save, truth enables the Holy Spirit to save.
