Will be moving to the area soon. Will be working at Jewish Hospital in Kenwood. Looking to purchase a home in Maineville. Google maps says travel time is between 20-25 minutes. Accurate? How long would that drive get during peak times?

Thanks

It's more like 10 minutes without traffic and you have a great alt route, Montgomery Road to Galbraith.

I would say Google Maps is pretty accurate. I would avoid the Fields Ertel/Mason Montgomery area virtually all of the time, just too conjested. I am curious what route Google Maps took you. I would take I-71 north to the Kings Island exit and then backtrack short distance south on Columbia Rd to Socialville Foster Rd then east to Maineville Rd

Montgomery Rd can get quite conjested and is just too much stop/start traffic.

During peak times I-71 can have slowdowns at Pfeiffer, I-275, and Fields Ertel/Mason Montgomery. But typically it does not stop, just slows down due to people exiting and entering, maybe 10 minutes total.

25 minutes sounds about right. 71 can gum up around Fields-Ertel and I-275, but you should generally have smooth sailing.

I dunno what you're smoking this morning, Wilson, but it's gotta be pretty good stuff if you can get from Maineville to Kenwood in 10 minutes.

plan on 40 minutes during peak times. sometimes it might take 10-15 minutes just to get on the highway from the hospital

It would definitely take more than 10 minutes. 1-71 is can get pretty congested between I-275 and Kenwood road. Montgomery road would take longer than the highway in most cases. Google maps' 20-25 minutes is pretty accurate in good traffic conditions. You will need more time if there's a drop of rain.

The village of Maineville itself is not very large. But the area around it is still rather sparsely populated. So mailing addresses of Maineville cover quite a bit of territory. I have a friend who has a mailing address of Maineville, but his best access is Wards Corner Rd off of I-275. So exactly where in Maineville you are thinking of puchasing makes a difference, especially whether it is actually Maineville itself or just a mailing address.

That is very true. If your exit or entrance time is during a period when the shopping center is crowded, it can take time to go down Kenwood and then negotiate Montgomery Rd over to I-71.

Some alternatives are Galbraith Rd, on which the hospital is located, east to Montgomery Rd, then Montgomery north to the Cross Co Hwy (Ronald Reagan), then west on Cross Co to I-71.

Another alternative is Kenwood Rd, the hospital is at the intersection of Galbraith and Kenwood, north to Cross Co then briefly east to I-71.

Each of these alternatives are longer in distance than straight south on Kenwood to Montgomery and then east to I-71. On the average I would say the shortest distance will result in the shortest time. Count the number of traffic lights involved, that will give you a good average.

Yea, maybe it would be 15 minutes. Remember, he is going to the hospital where 90% of the staff starts before 7 am.

I've been in the immediate area of the hospital quite a bit around the general time the day shift is getting off work. I think what progmac said about 10-15 minutes to get onto the interstate is accurate. Not that people are usually under the same kind of time pressure when they're leaving work as when they're arriving. But the traffic can be pretty extreme. And just forget the entire month of December, anywhere around Kenwood Mall.
