Describe your interests and some meaningful suggestions can be made. My spouse and I visited Cincinnati in May and stayed there for 8 consecutive days and did not run out of things to do or things to see-but again, where to go and what to do boils down to what you are interested in. Cincinnati is a very diverse city with a mix of new and old as well as its Riverside heritage. Maybe start at Fountain Square downtown and expand your visit from there-locals will readily give you suggestions based on your interests. Enjoy!

Very true, everyone I talked to was more than happy to offer suggestions.

A couple of "esoteric" suggestions that might not be immediately on people's tongues are the Fire Museum on Court St downtown, and the newly enlarged and relocated American Sign Museum in Camp Washington. If you visit the latter be sure to stop at Camp Washington Chili on Hopple St for a representative taste of one of our local specialties.
By now the OP may have come and gone, so I won't go into a ramble this time.

I second that on the American Sign Museum. I haven't been to it since they moved to Camp Washington from Essex but I am sure it is even more amazing with all of the room they now have.

I would also check out the new Washington Park in OTR. What an amazing transformation! I would also check out Bellevue Hill Park - great futuristic architecture and an amazing view. I have been there twice in the past week already.

I'd bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes, and start at downtown and walk down to The Banks, have a quick brew at the Lagerhouse, then head east along the bike trail that straddles the mighty Ohio River, take in Sawyer Point, walk across the Purple People Bridge (the longest pedestrian-only bridge in the U.S.) to Newport, Kentucky. Head back over the Bridge (which affords some of the best views of downtown).....that would take a solid hour.

By all means have dinner on Mt. Adams.

Everyone's suggestions are spot on. In fact, I live here and a few of them are things I should do - ASM and Camp Washington Chili, which I haven't had in years.

I highly recommend to anyone visiting the city to go up to Mount Adams and walk around. You just won't see anything else like it anywhere else. And while up there visit neighboring Eden Park and the Krohn Conservatory, then the Cincinnati Art Museum. There's a ton to do up there!

^-Mt. Adams looks kind of like a mini San Francisco, though a bit older and more brick (if you travel enough you do see similar areas ;-) ) For that alone though its totally worth checking out.

Take a tour of Over-The-Rhine (which is a neighborhood comparable in architecture to the North End in Boston or parts of Brooklyn) and see the beer tunnels underneath. I never knew about these when I was living in Cincinnati and they are super cool, better than the more publicized Seattle Underground IMO:

(Queen City Underground is the tour in particular, though they do offer other ones).

I second going up to Mt. Adams, soak in the neighborhood and make sure to catch some of the views, depending on your tastes and if you are not going with kids, you might want to stop by City View Tavern, if your lucky you can have a beer on the deck while looking out over downtown. While your there stop by Eden park, which is IMO one of the most beautiful urban parks I've been to.

I did help contribute to this article btw there are some good suggestions here:

Yea, been to San Francisco many times - Mount Adams does have that mini-SF feel to it with the steep grades, rowhouses, narrow streets and even its city/bridge views. If we could only get a Lombard Street going down the hill we'd really be in business. SF really is a great city and if I could replicate one thing from there, I'd take - in a second - a Chinatown.

I agree that the Cincinnati Underground tour is much better than Seattle Underground, which was disappointing. The Cincinnati tour has a far more authentic feel to it.
