Hi all,

New to Cincy and looking for the best eggnog. Originally from Michigan and love Calder's and Guernsey, but have no clue about where to look in this area. Any suggestions would be helpful!

Everything I can find indicates Louis Trauth Dairy closed some time ago. I saw some information on a potentiaL sale to Dean Foods but everything I can find indicates this did not happen. Can't find anything indicating Trauth Eggnog is actually available.

I believe it is now part of Dean Foods. The egg nog is still listed on their website but I have no idea if it is still produced.

Dean Foods operates like a conglomerate. Many of their dairy products are produced and marketed regionally using the name of the original producer which they acquired which is the way I believe they are operating Trauth. I can find nothing which indicates Dean Foods is producing many of the original Trauth side brands, particularly using the same recipies. On their main web site cannot even find eggnogg mentioned.

Thanks everyone, I had also heard of Trauth and the inability to locate it. Is there nothing else local? I guess I'll check out Whole Foods' selection.

It's not local, but Southern Comfort (SoCo) has the best alcoholic and non-alcoholic eggnog you can buy IMO.

Which reminds me, I need to pick some up. Good stuff!
