Me and my husband are from the Portsmouth Ohio area, but now live in middle Tennessee and hate it! We are looking for something closer to home and my husband has been to the mount orab area a couple of times and loved it! We want to buy some land and not really have neighbors. Any info on school districts? We have a 2 year old so we don't need anything yet but the reviews I've looked up didn't seem promising. Any preschools? Anyone live there that can tell me how it's like living there? I'm just so worried, because I want a good upbringing for my little one. Is it safe? Where do you go for fun? Anything to help me make a decision!

hahahahaha...

Im sorry i have to laugh at your questions. Mt Orab would NOT be right for you then. Its the middle of NO WHERE. What do you do for fun? Learn to farm.

We lived in Fayetteville and went to Mt orab.. its 20mi away and all country. Theres no public transportation. Schools are ok, small and not very advanced. Safe? If you dont have a dog on your chain in your yard or let your kid wonder in your unfenced yard.... sure its safe. 55mph roads in and out of town.

Choose somewhere else.

Try a look at Ross Township in Butler County. Mostly rural, close to Cincinnati's northern suburbs, has a good public school system. Mt. Orab really is kind of in the middle of nowhere.

You have found the middle of nowhere. Drugs, unfortunately, are everywhere. Usually the more rural areas have even bigger problems than the city.

Yes, without knowing the actual statistics I suspect the rural areas with the most widespread drug problems are those with the fewest jobs. That would be another reason to look for something a little closer to a metro area. I know that may sound counterintuitive.
