Thanks everyone for the responses! I am working with a real estate agent trying to find a place, and will probably focus on HP/Oakley.

Dont forget about Mt Adams as well, very near to downtown, some nightlife, great views

Also... the area of Norwood close to Rookwood is a great neighborhood. You get twice the house for your money and it is much nicer than much of Oakley.
