ROFL? Everyone knows NYC is romantic. I don't think you know much about Charleston/Savannah and probably haven't been. If you have, then you certainly missed something. Savannah's fountains, squares, old world historic and coloroful neighborhoods, and laid back southern hospitality screams romantic! Try using your judgement based on experience instead of cliche'd movies.
I have visited those places. My husband wanted to go there. How can I be judging a place based on videos of movies that take place in NY? What you said makes no sense.

Because you seemed to have dismissed Charleston and Savannah because no nostalgic romantic films have been filmed there. What I was saying is I beg to differ, how could the old world southern charm and hospitality of Savannah not be romantic? That truely makes no sense at all.

I am not basing it on films. I was just saying that Hollywood doesn't seem to consider those places romantic; otherwise they would have made many movies that took place there. And I just told you that I have been both places with my husband since I moved down to Florida.

OK so you clarified what Hollywood thinks and what you think. That's better.
I hate to get defensive, I just LOVE Savannah! It pulls at my heart strings. And yes the top of the Empire State Building seemed to have captured those urgent romantic moments on film. I think Central Park is very romantic, I had a characature drawn there once.
Quebec City
Montreal
San Francisco
Miami/South Florida
New York
Los Angeles
San Diego
Las Vegas
Boston (and other parts of New England like Newport, RI and many parts of Vermont)
...but Quebec City and Montreal are 1st and 2nd by far.
New York City around christmas time especially Manhattan = perfect place to walk around with your partner. South Beach, taking a stroll down Ocean Drive = perfect as well, these are just my opinions though.

Indeed, the French have capitalized romance.
I fail to see what is romantic about Las Vegas or Miami
I'd say go to the Grand Canyon or Sedona, AZ over Vegas. The Florida Keys and Sanibel Island over Miami.
Vermont is certainly quaint and romantic, sunset over Lake Champlain falling behind the Adirondacks, sweet!
The actual city of Miami isn't exactly romantic unless you're in the Brickell area, but Miami Beach definitely is.
