I lived in Raleigh, North Carolina for two years and it was nice and relatively crime free but I have to go with Illinois because I'm from Chicago. Now if it wasn't for Chicago then Illinois would basically be Iowa.

If it wasn't for Chicago- I'd go with NC.
The vast majority of IL doesn't appeal to me- No offense.

I've been to Chicago two times. Hope to go back one day for a week or so. I got nothin' for NC. OBX is cool, that's it.
