Lovely!

I think Tyler pretty much has this; it's known much more and has been nicknamed "The Rose Capital of the World" for years now. Give it a rest.

Hey! Don't kill the messenger! All I was saying is that there is another city out there that calls itself the Rose City. And it has been calling itself that all my life (over 40 years.)

Whether or not it or Tyler deserve to be the Rose Capital I could really care less.

OMG!!!!!! Never say that again! San Diego is nothing like LA!!!!!!!!

We live here because it's NOT L.A. and that's a DAMN good thing. I can't believe you just said that! Just because they are both in SoCal doesn't mean they are alike!

Don't get me wrong L.A. can be ok when you want to go to museums, Hollywood, world class restaurants, or whatever, but overall, L.A. isn't that great.

The traffic drains the life out of you among other things like smog.

So Tyler is "be-littled" because another place that deems itself rightfully so as the "City of Roses"?Cant they both exist?

I agree. L.A. is very dirty, filled with crime, and a third world slum in a large part of the metro. San Diego, on the other hand, is cleaner, more beautiful, and its bad areas are much more contained than the mass that is L.A. Even then, it's trending in the wrong direction as well.

Dude, I'm from LA. If there is one city that is a mini LA, it is San Diego. They are culturally most similar as well as demographically. I know San Diego is still a different city and has different things, that's why I said IF. No city is truly a mini LA.

I've pointed to the similarities before, but thats all there is and ends there. Like for example Houston most closely resembles Dallas (which is pretty much legitimate- since they're in the same state) but it has a ton of similarities with Atlanta, Miami, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Phoenix, & a few other Sunbelt cities.

I've never been one to say Houston is a Mini-Los Angeles, because thats just downright selling your soul to be someone that you shouldn't be. There should only be one Los Angeles in the country and thats it. I've posted the similarities before, which can consist of housing (this one personally does affect me), highways, trees, and other things but that wont ever make one city a smaller version of the other.

I think this thread is utterly ridiculous, Atlanta (or Houston for that matter) don't remind me of Los Angeles.
