I dont consider DC apart of the south (or Northeast actually), but I got some angry messages from some Atlantans telling me I sound "foolish" and everyone is "laughing at DC not being in the south" when I said it. So I just thought I could do Atlantans a favor for once

That's not necessary. I do look at it as its own area but when folks start pulling out the crazy stereotypes is when I pull out the history lesson. I do however feel that those in transient Southern areas see MD as case study #1...I know I do.

I know it can seem like I rag on the south a lot (mostly the deep south) but it has culture, if DC really is apart of the south then there isnt anything wrong with it. DC will be respected whether northeast or south

I'm sorry... but SEPTA and NJ transit do not go into the south.

You are a joke if you think the south goes above the Mason-Dixon line, which is where Wilmington is situated.

Furthermore, the census' objective is to COUNT PEOPLE, not to find the demarcation of the south. Look it up, genius. They had to draw the line somewhere, so they did.

No problem, I'm past that stuff now. Every region has it's bright points and not so bright areas. I would like to understand your objection with Atlanta or see what your points are...there will be no argument from me (I've heard it all on here and in everyday life) I'll have to relocate soon anyway. About DC, it could have been built on the Mississippi or Alabama coast and get lots of love (rightfully so).

First of all, don't come at me like that slim,

and that still doesn't change the fact that Delaware is a southern state

The mason dixon line proves it and so does the census.

A lot of New Jersey is below the dixie line so is that part of NJ southern? Hell Cape May, NJ is on the same latitude as D.C.
