How many new places are going up like this in Houston? Also, the financing for these sorts of things are creeping back into Atlanta. Two new projects for highrise apartments (the market for new highrise condos is dead here) was just announced with construction to start late this. One is a 316 unit and 22 story building, the other is a 320 unit 23 story. So I wouldn't say that Houston is the only place, but they are probably are one of the few areas that can afford to do a lot of it at the moment.
Also. In addition to the one that broke ground today. Several large complexes will break ground within the next few months. Mostly midrises though. Such as this one.
I believe this breaks ground next month. Hines just announced one in the galleria and another one by a different company is being built in the Galleria area. Hanover is waiting on approval (I think it was approved). This is in addition to ones that are under construction right now such as West Ave, Midtown Grove, and Scout Square. All of them are either inside the loop or in the galleria area.

^^^ It doesn't matter how many of those Houston builds that fact that its PT is a complete joke, lack of sidewalks, overwhelming hot humid weather, and streets as wide as expressways, Houston will never be a true walkable/urban city in our lifetimes nor in our grandchildrens lifetimes; to me it seems Houston is trying to walk before it crawls.

Many places in Houston are walkable. They just aren't thriving. Houston isn't unbearable from Sept-April. Similar to how some cities are too cold. The bus system outshines many other cities, so just because light rail isn't as widely used as denser cities doesn't mean PT is a joke. Sidewalks are actually present in older parts and especially in the loop.
And as someone said earlier Houston has a habit of throwing most of its highrises along or near freeways, which is by the way the only reason why Houston to some people seems like such a large city when they drive through it.
What's funny and why have you never answered the questions we provided?
