Again, why would any of those companies move to Indy? If Abbott was going to go anywhere it'd probably be Boston, or maybe Philadelphia. McDonalds has zero reason to move, and the same with Office Max.
Lower Tax Burden #1.
Less hassle like in Chicago/Illinois.
Less government red tape and insane regulations.
lower cost of living
better location.
etc.
Also FYI dont offer opinions about business if your not in their shoes. Unless your the CEO of a large corporation its kinda worthless to offer an opinion.
My family is filled with small business owners and they agree with what i have said. The long established states like NY/Californiastan/Massachusetts etc arent going to grow much anymore and their labor pools will either stay steady or decline slowly.
So at the very least small businesses will choose Indianapolis over Chicago. Heck Indy was ranked as one of the best places to set up a small business.
In this world SMALL business matters most cause it employs over 60% of our labor force.

Yeah...and they could get a number of those things in, say, Wyoming or Alabama...don't see them moving there...
And no way does Indy have a better location than Chicago.
Ok, that makes sense...though it has a fraction of the number of skilled employees.

Less hassle? Umm...what? What's a hassle about living in Chicago? It has world-class amenities, architecture, restaurants, etc. Many, many people want the "hassle" of a city like Chicago.

Can you list any "insane regulations" which are driving businesses from Chicago?

Perhaps, but Chicago's cost of living isn't high by any means.

Hahahaha wait, what? Indy's location is depressingly-bad while Chicago has one of the coolest coastal settings in the country.

That makes such little sense that it's mind-blowing. Work on learning the difference between "your" and "you're" before telling who can and can't offer a valid opinion.

Judging by your previous sentence, your family's opinion doesn't mean anything.

And do you have anything to support that at all? Those states are home to three of the most innovative cities on the planet in Boston, San Francisco, and New York City. Those states also have some of the best universities on the planet, ensuring a strong talent pool will always be located in the area and the economies will constantly be evolving.

Yet only the CEOs of large corporations are allowed to give opinions? Who knows where a small business would choose to start up...it really depends on the industry. Either way, your Indy boosting is getting a little absurd.
Chicago thinks they are better than all other midwest cities because they are the biggest. It is not just Indianapolis they pick on, but also Milwalkee, Detroit, Minneapolis, St louis etc, you get the picture. Biggest is not always best. If Chicago is that great why do hoards of Illinoying plates show up in Wisconsin and Michigan every summer??? If your driving along minding your own business in a town like Traverse city Mi or some Lake Michigan beach town anywhere in Mi or Wi and your suddenly cut off by some aggressive jerk in a BMW just look at the plate, yup another FIB lol.
This is getting all but tired at this point going back and forth. No one is right, no one is wrong. Believe it or not, it's highly plausible that Chicagoians do not just sit there and think up new ways to hate Indianapolis. There are hoosiers who could care less about what goes on in Chicago.
Both locales have their pro's and con's with regards to living and doing business. They are both good cities.

Exactly.
And i wonder why Illinois is one of the most hated states in the country?
aside from the corruption this Superiority mentality really is sad and pathetic.

I am willing to bet a majority of people out here in California could not find Illinois on a map.
Hell, half the people can not even pronouce the state right.
