I've always thought of the malls as a California thing because of the 80s and 90s sitcoms and movies would always have the teens hanging out there. I think of shows like Saved by the Bell and movies like Bill and Ted. They made the malls there seem so much cooler than the ones anywhere else.
I voted for Minneapolis due to they have the biggest mall in America. I think you could actually get a nice work-out by walking through this mall.
Malls, though, are passe these days. The new trend is the "commons" area, where there are a bunch of stores with outdoor entrances, allowing consumers to drive right up to the store they want. Of course, this creates many shoppers driving from one parking spot to another, bad on so many levels.
its all about boutique shops and independents now....
but id venture to say southern california, dallas, tx, NYC, MIAMI,
Southern California may have been 20 or 30 years ago, but now we probably have no more than anywhere else per capita. The new "malls" are outdoor faux town center type places like The Grove or Americana at Brand.
