Michigan
Wisconsin
Ohio
Illinois
New York
Indiana

In that same order.

My fun fact map says Minnesota has over 10,000 natural lakes in the state, and Texas has 1 natural non-man made lake. That's the difference.

I would imagine Minnesota, but I haven't visited the state yet.
I'm going to say New York.

Haha, I just edited my post. Buffalo, New York and Niagara Falls is quite nice as well.

It's okay, we all forget something every now and then, even I did, that's why I went back and edited my last post.

The state of Michigan is a beast in this category. I cannot name another state that borders as many Great Lakes as Michigan does, and it's got lakes ALL OVER the state. It's beautiful too with the green tree's everywhere.

By the way, I see 1 vote for Texas, just want everyone to know, it was not me. I voted Minnesota!

I made a biased vote with Vermont only because my favorite lake is Lake Champlain. I love Burlington's lakefront with the rail trail for bicycle's and rollerblading, sandy beaches, and veiw of New York's Adirondacks with breathtaking sunsets. Ferrie's chug across the lake and it has several islands and great campong spots. Lake Champlain also has its own mythical Lochness Monster "Champ" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Champ_(cryptozoology)

I would say Michigan and Minnesota would be the strongest contenders but I haven't been yet.

Northern Idaho's lakes are impressive amongst the evergreen forested mountains. Priest Lake is especially beautiful, and fun!

1. Florida between Central Florida and Miami Lakes.
2. New York simply because I love the serenity of the Finger Lakes.
3. Technically its a Gorge but Oregon/Washington for the Columbia River Gorge which gives some of the best kiteboarding in the world

Michigan all the way!

MI has 3,288 miles of shoreline along the Great Lakes, which is more shoreline than any other state except Alaska. And much of that shoreline is beautiful frontage along lakes Michigan, Superior and Huron. And don't forget the 11,000 or so inland lakes, including gems like Torch Lake.

I think we should stop the fight right now. First round knockout. Someone help the referee pull Michigan off of everybody else! It's getting bloody out there.
