I totally remember that now. I thought that was a lot of cities back then too, but thought it was nice to showcase as many as possible.
There should not be more than 12, or 14 cities chosen to host games. That list the US committee came out with will be chopped down some in the event the US is chosen to host in 2026. In 2002 over in South Korea and Japan, there were 20 venues and each stadium only hosted 3 matches. In Germany in 2006 there were 12 cities and every stadium hosted 5 matches and a few hosted 6.

A World Cup in the US would probably result in the maximum allotment of cities allowed by FIFA due to the mulititude of eligible US cities and the massive geography of our country. However, I do think that there would be a majority concentration of host cities on the East coast.
No real evidence even remotely suggests the US is likely to host it in 2022 or even that Qatar is most likely getting stripped. The latter might happen, but it's hardly a sure thing.
Miami, Atlanta, Dallas, DC, LA and maybe SF.
If the World Cup is in the US I'm sure the tournament will stay in the south.
Why would that be?
