Maybe this will gain some insight into why people are huge homers on CvC, but do you consider where you live a reflection on who you are as a person?
To an extent, I think it does on a micro level. For example: if you decide to live in a poorer neighborhood even though you actually have money, some could question whether or not you are cheap. However, when it comes to large cities, I believe it gets much more difficult.
I could see people splitting on this question. People who made an active decision to move somewhere because it fit there lifestyle might consider the location an extension of themselves. People who live some place because that's where they were born, that's where they have family support, or that's where their company shipped them- they probably don't feel where they live reflects who they are as a person.
Cities are made up of people. When you say a city lacks culture, is less intelligent, backwards, etc., you're saying that about the people of that city.

Finally, someone who makes sense!
